Set amidst a spectacular alpine amphitheatre, strategic use of water and sand traps ensure exciting and demanding golf. Measuring 6,412 metres (7,013 yards) from the back tees the design emphasises the natural features of the site, each hole having its own particular identity in terms of both strategy and landscape setting. The course designer is New Zealand's most famous golfer Sir Bob Charles who won the British Open championship, the only Kiwi with a major until Michael Campbell's recent US Open victory.
Challenging for both higher and lower handicap golfers, the Millbrook Resort course is one of the most impressive international golf arenas in the world. Featuring impeccably groomed fairways and greens, demanding hazards and meandering water courses, surrounded by the alpine backdrop of the Remarkables Mountain Range, golf at Millbrook Resort is an exhilarating experience.
Extensive practice facilities, including putting and chipping greens, bunkers, and driving ranges are complemented by the very well stocked and professional golf shop.
Landscaping and architecture of the Resort gives it a distinct English feel, with the extensive use of local stone and recycled hardwoods. The resort features a Health and Beauty Spa and first class fitness facilities. The Resort is only a short drive [or free Resort shuttle] to the famous, lively and quite beautiful, Queenstown.
Excellent Villa and Hotel style accommodation is available on the golf course.
