LAKES RESORT

The Lakes Resort has one of New Zealand 's newest golf resort layouts and is situated on the pristine Coromandel Peninsula only 90 minutes away from Auckland. Set in a sun drenched valley surrounded by forests, this 6171 metre par 71 layout is both testing and rewarding for all levels of golfers. The area is visually stunning and the surroundings feature an abundance of local wetland wildlife in this pristine native valley.

The layout is designed by famous international golf course architects Sid Puddicombe and Associates who have overseen many magnificent designs around the world.

The outstanding features of the golf course at Lakes Resort, Pauanui is the most notable Puddicombe trademark - large tees, large greens, big bunkers and lots of water. Huge attention to detail was put into the selection of the various grasses making up the playing surfaces.

All tees and greens have been sown with L93 creeping bent grass. The seed was specifically imported for this project and the playing surfaces are second to none in the country. The rolling wide and forgiving fairways are a mixture of various rye grasses, whilst the rough being fescue of a length to punish the poor shot will not frustrate general play.
